Cardmedia (Europe) Ltd, has announced the availability of the new Biodisk USB 2.0 Fingerprint USB Pen drive, which allows to secure the access to your files via fingerprint access control.

Like the existing and popular Biodisk USB 1.1, the Biodisk USB 2.0 will let you register up to 5 fingerprints to restrict the access to the stored data, and optionally set up a password protection access.
When you connect the Biodisk to a PC, the Biodisk software runs automatically and prompts for fingerprint recognition (or password access). Due to this software, the Biodisk cannot be used under Mac computers unfortunately.
If the Biodisk needed to be formatted for reuse in the case the fingerprint couldn't be registered anymore or if the password was lost, a serial number is assigned to each unit so you can wipe out all the information and reuse it.
The stored capacity is available from 128MB up to 1GB and a nice protective case is supplied.

The Biodisk 2.0 has been enhanced with the following features:

• USB 2.0 + USB 1.1 Compatible
• New design to protect the fingerprint sensor whilst travelling
• Contrary to the USB 1.1 version, it is possible to use the Biodisk in a network environment if the user is not an Administrator account
