Mobile IDE Case
Card Media have a whole range of hard drive cases to suit every requirement. We have mobile hard drive enclosures, for 2.5" hard disks, and desktop cases, which support 3.5" hard drives.
In this product group, we have listed a range of portable hard drive cases for IDE hard drives. There are two popular types of 2.5" hard drive, namely IDE and SATA hard drives. Please identify which hard drive you. If your hard drive is an IDE disk, or 'ATA', then it will be suitable for any of these hard drive cases. One other thing to check, and that is the height of the hard drive. All of our hard drive cases accept 9.5mm hard disks. There are 12.5mm hard disk drives, but these will not fit into any of our disk enclosures.

Mobile USB2.0 Enclosure
The Mobile USB2.0 Enclosure is an external hard drive case for 2.5" IDE hard drives. It is well made from aluminium. Assembly of the hard drive into the drive case is very simple, and requires only two screws to be unscrewed. Simply insert the hard drive into the caddy, then screw it back together. And that's it. You now have a portable external hard drive. The mobile case is supplied with all the necessary cables, screws and driver software for Windows 98SE. Later operating systems don't need drivers. This mobile enclosure works on Windows, Mac and Linux based computers. Power is taken from the computers USB port. Sometimes, two USB ports may be required if a single USB port does not supply enough 'bus' power to the enclosure.
2.5" Combo (USB2.0/FireWire) Enclosure
The 2.5" Combo enclosure is similar to the 2.5" USB case, apart from the fact that is has a USB2.0 and FireWire port. It is well made from aluminium, and is supplied with all the necessary cables you need to connect it to a USB or FireWire port. It works on Windows computers, Apple Macs and Linux via USB or FireWire. In addition on the USB and FireWire leads, a USB to DC jack is also supplied, in case the USB or FireWire port does not supply sufficient power.
Pluscom 2.5" IDE/SATA to USB Enclosure
The Pluscom hard drive case is fairly unique in that it can accept both IDE and SATA 2.5" hard drives. It is a sturdy, stylish looking external disk enclosure, and it has a USB port for connection to Windows, Mac or Linux computers. As with the Mobile USB2.0 Enclosure, the Pluscom case is supplied with everything you need except the hard drive. This hard drive case accepts only 9.5mm drives.
Transparent IDE Enclosure
The 2.5" Transparent hard drive case is a funky 2.5" hard drive caddy, which houses 2.5" IDE hard drives. It is made from a sturdy plastic case, and is totally see-through. This is a great way of displaying the actual 2.5" hard drive, and provides some fun in for the user. Hard drives are incredible engineering feats, so why hide them away? The 2.5" USB drive case, in common with the other USB cases listed here, has a USB2.0 port, and can accept any capacity 2.5" IDE hard drive. All the cable s you need are supplied as well as any additional fixings, if required. The portable drive case works on Windows, Mac and Linux computers. Assembly is very easy and anyone can assemble the hard drive in the drive case.
